Get to know me
I’m Silvia, a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with several years’ experience in the public sector. I help people understand the patterns behind anxiety, depression and related difficulties, then develop practical skills to create lasting change.
I am accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), with a background in clinical psychology and psychodynamic counselling. I offer a confidential, sensitive environment where you can explore what you are experiencing without judgement.
Therapy is personal. Whether you are facing a difficult period or struggling with recurring symptoms, our sessions will be shaped around your needs and goals.
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy explores how thoughts and beliefs connect with emotions, behaviour and physical sensations. Often it is not an event alone that distresses us, but the meaning we attach to it.
By noticing unhelpful cycles and trying new responses, CBT helps you approach overwhelming issues in a more balanced and constructive way.
CBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy focused mainly on current problems and practical solutions. The intention is for you to become your own therapist—able to apply the skills you learn long after sessions end.
CBT has a strong evidence base and is recommended by NICE for a range of mental health difficulties.

If we decide to work together, we’ll agree your goals and the number and frequency of sessions. You remain free to stop at any time.
You’ll take an active role, using between-session tasks to practise new skills. Booster sessions are available after treatment.
Practice is informed by the BABCP Codes of Ethics. Sessions are confidential, except where there is a duty of care to protect someone from harm. Regular clinical supervision is undertaken in line with BABCP requirements.
